Calling all area high school and college students. iQ Credit Union is proud to award several scholarships. These scholarships are available to area high school, college and community college students.
Applications are available online and at iQ locations beginning January 3, 2012. Applications are accepted January 3 - March 10, 2012.
We will announce scholarship recipients by May 25, 2012.
Two graduating high school seniors entering college will receive $1,000.
One college student working toward a baccalaureate degree will receive $1,000.
Two students selected by the committee from the pool of applicants will receive $1,000 as the Wilber White Committee's Choice scholarship.
iQ Credit Union will offer one additional scholarship through the Clark College Foundation. This scholarship will be awarded exclusively to a Clark College student.
Eligibility
All existing primary members of the Credit Union are eligible. Family members are eligible regardless of their residence. The applicant must be the primary member on the account (first person named) to be considered. Incoming, existing and returning students all qualify as eligible scholarship candidates. Recipients must use the scholarship to attend a licensed/certified program. Credit Union employees, board members, supervisory committee members and their children will be ineligible for said scholarships.
High School and College Student Applicants:
Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for an iQ Credit Union Scholarship:
- Must be a primary member of iQ Credit Union prior to making scholarship application
- Be a graduating high school senior, have completed high school or have completed high school equivalency.
- Be enrolling at a community college or four-year university for the fall of 2012 as either a freshman or a continuing student.
- Have a 2.25 cumulative GPA
- Plan to enroll as a full-time student (12 credits or more per quarter or 13 credits or more per semester) for the 2012/2013 academic year.
- Be intent upon completing an academic transfer, baccalaureate or graduate program, depending upon the scholarship for which the applicant is being considered.
Application Packet:
Applicant must submit an application packet containing the following:
- A completed and signed iQ Credit Union Scholarship Application.
- Official academic transcripts from all schools attended.
- College SAT, ACT or ASSET Test scores or a signed note indicating test scores are not required for the college for which the applicant is attending.
- Two complete and signed recommendation forms submitted on iQ Credit Union Forms.
- Educational Goals - One page listing your educational goals, must state the reason you made your career choice, the qualifications you feel you have and how you plan to meet the cost of your education.
- Accomplishments - One page listing the applicant's top five accomplishments and an explanation of how each has prepared the applicant for the future.
Applicant is responsible to turn in all components by March 10, 2012. Failure to comply with any of these requirements will result in disqualification, and the application will not be considered
